What is SpeakEasy
SpeakEasy by EnGen is a new mobile app that enables learners to practice various English skills:
- Speaking
- Conversation
- Pronunciation
It is NOT offered to all EnGen learners by default. Currently, it’s a pilot. If you have a learner who could benefit from this app, slack Mackenzie Campbell (mackenzie@getengen.com) to have them added.
SpeakEasy by EnGen offers personalized practice. Learners can complete challenges related to work and practice speaking with an AI conversation partner.
SpeakEasy by EnGen is a separate app from the EnGen app:
Learners can download the app from the App Store or Google Play Store:
OR they can activate their SpeakEasy account via the welcome email:
They need to answer questions about their native language and schedule (for app notifications) when they activate their account.
What can learners do on the SpeakEasy by EnGen app?
- They can complete Challenges. Please note that we have challenges available for Amazon and CAEL only:
If a learner sees no challenges on screen, it likely means they’ve completed them all—this is expected behavior, not a bug. While more content is in progress, encourage learners to use the “Practice” tab to continue improving through open-ended conversations with the AI. - They can also practice conversations with an AI conversation partner of their choice:
- They can check the Leaderboard:
- They can submit feedback within the SpeakEasy app or by contacting their coach to explain the issue:
